Station Section Settings
Station sections offer a large amount of configuration options categorized into a few tabs. The box at the top of the Station Section Settings panel allows you to name the station section. This is important for racing/dueling coasters and for identifying blocks on the control panel. The Extra Block Length box allows you to push the block border further out from its default position at the end of the section. This is useful when creating a coaster that launches from the station. Moving the block border out prevents a second train from entering the station until the first train has cleared the block border, usually placed at the highest point after the launch. Two parallel station sections will automatically combine into a single building if they are close enough together.
Station Mode
This tab controls the function and appearance of the station section.
- Left/Right entrance determines which side the loading gates appear on.
- Unloading Only option configures the station without entrance gates. A train that stops here will release harnesses and advance the train forward with harnesses still open.
- Display options allow you to customize how much of the station is displayed. Full building will draw the entire building with stairs, rails, loading gates, lights, and the roof. No Roof removes the roof, leaving the platform open air. Gates Only will hide everything except the built-in loading gates. Hide All will hide all parts of the station. Note that the station section will continue to function even if parts/all of the building are hidden.
- Entrance/Exit Stairs configures the location of entrance and exit stairs for the station building.
- Passes is a setting used when the coaster is in Shuttle Mode. Each time the train enters the station it is considered a 'pass' and 1 is deducted from the pass counter. When the train enters the station section when the pass counter is at 0, the station will park the train and finish the ride cycle. The pass counter is then reset for the next ride. This setting is useful when creating certain types of shuttle coasters that run through the station multiple times.
- Shuttle Backwards Start is a setting used for certain types of shuttle configurations where the train is pulled out backward out the station by a lift hill segment. To use this option, the coaster must be set to Shuttle mode and there must be a lift hill section directly behind the station.
- Control Panel options allow you to customize the type of 3D control panel that is automatically generated. Automatic (when floor) will generate a control panel inside the station building, whenever it has a generated floor (the Display setting is set to Full Building or No Roof). At Scene Object Location will generate a control panel at the position of an arbitrary scene object with a specific name, that can be specified in the field below.
- Scene Object Name is the name of a scene object where a 3D control panel should be generated when the Control Panel option is set to At Scene Object Location. This scene object will act as a reference for the location of the to be generated controls. The typical behaviour is to generate the controls relative to the object at Y=0 on the XZ-plane. Some special behaviour is done for the shipped empty control panel scenery objects, which can be found in the Library, where the controls will be generated on their empty inclined surface.
- Structure Color configures the color of the beams holding up the roof.
- Railings Color configures the color of the handrails and fences in the station.
- Gates Color configures the color of the safety gates.
Station Wait Time
This tab configures how long each train waits before automatically dispatching.
- The Average setting determines the average amount of time a train waits before dispatching.
- Minimum and Maximum settings set lower and upper limits for dispatch.
- Deviation sets the standard deviation (variance) from the Average setting.
Stations can be synchronized to dispatch at the same time. Click on the [+] button to select a station to synchronize with. You can synchronize with stations on the same coaster or on different coasters for racing or dueling rides. Select a station and click [-] to remove a station. You can synchronize with multiple stations.
Station Brake Device
This tab controls the brake device used by the station. You can choose between a friction brake, magnetic brake, or to not use a brake at all. To configure a coaster with only friction tires or magnetic launch in the station, choose the hide brake device option. The deceleration value controls the amount of force applied to stop a train. Note that not all coaster styles feature all brake device options.
Station Transport Device
This tab configures the transportation device options in the station. Stations are not required to use transport devices. To disable the transport device, uncheck the Enabled button.
You can configure the station to use friction tires, linear magnetic motors (LIM/LSM), or to hide the transport device. Note that not all coaster styles feature all transport device options.
The Speed setting controls how fast the train moves while under power of the transport device. Acceleration and Deceleration settings control how much force is applied to speed up or slow down the train while dispatching or parking the train.
To launch a train out of the station, check the Launch box. The Acceleration setting next to launch is configured separately from the normal transport setting. Max Speed sets a limit for the launch speed.
